Professional Sales and Specialty Lumber Procurement

Establish and maintain relationships with contractors, builders and homeowners to sell the company’s products and services over the phone and by person.  Responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials to fill orders and maintain inventory.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide excellent customer service and project a positive image of our company
  • Receive and make phone calls to and from prospective and established customers to provide information on products and services
  • Determine which products best suit our customer’s needs by obtaining detailed information about their project including information provided verbally or by analyzing blue prints, technical drawing, sketches or by doing take-offs at job sites
  • Provide customers with accurate material quantities, suggested techniques for installation, design ideas and technical support
  • Quotes prices, prepares bids and communicates lead time requirements back to customers in a timely manner paying close attention to achieving required margins on materials
  • Coordinate, schedule and track shipment of orders
  • Tracks customer satisfaction to ensure quality of products and accuracy of orders
  • Resolves customer complaints
  • Source and purchase materials from new or established vendors for specific customer jobs and inventory; negotiates price, delivery and credit terms
  • Verifies accuracy of vendor sales orders, invoices and products received
  • Load/unload freight, sort and put away without damage to products or warehouse
  • Obey all safety rules at all times
  • Additional duties assigned as appropriate

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Safe previous driving record with no moving violations to ensure coverage under company’s insurance
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
  • Ability interpret maps, safety rules, company policies and procedures, technical manuals and instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Extensive knowledge of lumber and building techniques, able to interpret blue prints and other diagrams and calculate material quantities
  • Competitive nature and enthusiastic attitude with the ability to hard deadlines
  • Personal grooming and dress to be appropriate to project a professional appearance and comply with company dress code

Monday – Friday (No Weekends)

In Office Position located in Burlington, Washington
